SEND

We ensure that all pupils in our school are equally valued by having equal access to a broad and balanced curriculum, which is differentiated to meet the individual needs and abilities of our children. We are able to support children with difficulties with their communication and interaction, cognition and learning, social, emotional and mental health and sensory or physical needs. The New Special Needs Code of Practice is practised by the school. This is in accordance with Wolverhampton Education Authority guidelines.

At Trinity, we cater for children with additional needs and ensure that these children are able to access the curriculum and are catered for in each classroom. Additionally, some children may be withdrawn, or receive support from Learning Support Assistants. Our site is accessible to all children and our dedicated SENCO, Miss Markham, and her assistant, Miss Osborne, ensure that the children have every opportunity to make progress and develop their skills within school.

If you have any questions about Special Educational Needs, please contact the school office. Our policy for Special Educational Needs may be viewed in school on request.

SEND Information Report

Makaton

Makaton is a language programme that uses signs together with speech and symbols, to enable people to communicate. It supports the development of essential communication skills such as attention, listening, comprehension, memory and expressive speech and language.

At our school, there are some children who may experience difficulties in communication; due to this, we will be learning and using Makaton signs across the school to aid communication for all children. All children will be encouraged to use Makaton signs throughout the school day to further aid communication and to show what they have learnt.

Below are the signs that we will be learning this year.
